This is a hybrid position based out of our Toronto Support Centre for those located in the GTA or remote for those outside this region and elsewhere in Canada. As a Bilingual Senior Payroll Process Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Payroll Manager in ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of the Workday Payroll function, including identifying, implementing, and monitoring process performance and continuous improvement opportunities for a multi-province Canadian payroll.

In this role, you will

  • Identify, develop, test, and implement Workday Payroll process optimization and improvements
  • Lead, investigate and validate new Workday Payroll system updates, including requirements gathering and analysis, and liaise regularly with internal Systems Administrator(s) on all configuration changes
  • Maintain and share Workday Payroll knowledge to support efficient payroll system administration
  • Support and train as required all members of the Payroll team on Workday Payroll best practices
  • Coordinate the timely monitoring / auditing of system reports, including review and troubleshooting to preemptively identify and address issues, trends, and root causes
  • Work collaboratively with other stream leads to share process improvement ideas and opportunities
  • Execute special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager and above
  • Assist in year-end balancing / reporting

What we're looking for

  • Must be bilingual in French and English
  • 5+ years progressive experience in payroll, HR, or an employee benefits program role
  • 3 Years Workday experience, and strong computing skills including with MS Office
  • Professional certification/designation preferred, or a willingness to enroll in Payroll certification
  • Experience as being a go-to for Workday payroll processes in a previous organization.
  • Customer focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience with timely solutioning of escalated issues using a ticketing system
  • Relevant experience in quality control, cross-system audit, reconciliation, and process improvement
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter and resourceful; ability to adapt and learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Collaborative, action-oriented, with strong functional / technical skills
