THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Data Analytics to join our team in Calgary. Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to provide leadership, direction, mentoring and oversight for the data platforms and engineering, integrations, transformations, enablement and reporting, information management and data governance teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, define business requirements, and value statements, prioritize initiatives and translate them into actionable data analytics projects
  • Establish metrics for measuring and reporting investment and sustainment costs, and value realization
  • Establish relationships with peers to influence and drive transformative change through adapting existing business processes, challenging norms, and established ways of working
  • Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of large datasets from various sources, such as real-time drilling or production volumes
  • Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover insights and trends that drive operational efficiency and optimize asset performance
  • Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards and reports to communicate key findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • The ability and aptitude to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data analytics and apply them to enhance ARC's analytics capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures, including data security and privacy regulations
  • Lead and develop Data Scientists in investigating complex issues, defining key metrics, and uncovering key drivers of our business
  • Partner with the leadership across our organization to adopt quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what drives our business

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Strong proficiency and experience with SQL, ETL, Python, R, or other programming languages commonly used in data analysis
  • Experience working with large datasets and conducting complex statistical analyses
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tibco Spotfire, Power BI, SAP SAC or similar
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including experience with oil and gas production data analysis, is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams
