We are seeking an experienced Physical Security Specialist to join our team at Control Risks. As the Physical Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' events.

This position is a 6-month role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Client event security team in the execution of safe, secure, and successful events, ranging from large internal (non-public) Client events to large marquee public events.
  • Conduct desktop or in-person assessment of venues in Toronto/Toronto area, with the possibility of conducting some limited assessments at other locations in Canada.
  • Provide security requirements with regards to floor plan design for different events.
  • Develop event security protocols in collaboration with Client and vendor stakeholder groups.
  • Develop event-specific issues management playbook.
  • Where feasible and at the discretion of Client, support the build-out of elements of the broader corporate program, including but not limited to executive protection and travel risk management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in government, corporate security, or a similar role.
  • Event security or close protection experience.
  • Ability to understand and mitigate threat-related considerations in various event settings.
  • Ability to provide measured and timely guidance under pressure.
