In collaboration with other staff, the Analyst analyzes, develops, and maintains digital systems. The Analyst may work as a project manager, a technical specialist, and/or a member of the support team. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze current systems through review of documentation and interviews with relevant staff units.
  • Collaborate with relevant staff units to clarify requirements, evaluate options, and identify solutions, including the development of new digital systems and enhancing existing digital systems.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, requirements definitions, system design documents, project plans, estimates, and testing requirements.
  • Develop and support new interfaces/systems using current programming principles (such as object-oriented programming and test-driven development).
  • Establish and maintain system standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure comprehensive digital system documentation, including operational documentation for users.
  • Optimize systems for best performance.
  • Resolve issues related to service requests or production problems.
  • Participate in special projects and committees, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or related IT discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in progressive systems analysis and programming/design.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Project management and planning.
    • Research and analysis of internal business processes to identify opportunities to optimize and automate them.
    • SQL programming and query optimization.
    • Microsoft Power Automate.
    • APIs and software integration.
    • Object-oriented languages, including .Net, .Net.Core, C#, and Azure cloud platform.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with supervisors and staff.
  • Experience in a union environment similar to MGEU is an asset.
  • UnionWare database experience is an asset.
