Ferring+You

You will be responsible for the development of Market Access strategies for both in-market and launch products, optimizing pricing and reimbursement strategies, and ensuring access to our products. Through the leadership of the Market Access team, oversees execution of Market Access initiatives to engage cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Medical, RA, etc.), external partners, public and private payers, patient advocacy groups, government, and related agencies, to ensure access to Ferring medicines, optimal reimbursement, and valued health outcomes. Negotiates with government to remove barriers for patients to Ferring treatments. Accountable for Ferring Canada’s Patient Support Programs, including compliance, and effectiveness.

Your day at Ferring

Develops short- and long-term Market Access strategies for Ferring’s in-market and launch products, including full lifecycle management.

Aligns Market Access strategies with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Medical, RA, etc.) to achieve Ferring brand plans, for all therapeutic areas, directly and through Manager, Market Access (2).

Oversees the preparation of provincial formulary submissions, including budget impact analyses (BIAs), and health economic analyses. Designs, facilitates, and ensures relevant submissions to gain positive outcomes from Common Drug Review (CDR), public and private formularies, as well as institutional buying groups/agencies. Recommends, qualifies, and manages outside consultants to support submission project needs, when and as required.

Maintains a current understanding of prevailing and developing Market Access trends, relevant market dynamics and the evolving policy/regulatory landscape, to identify and communicate risks, opportunities, challenges, and other substantial business impacts. Anticipates and mitigates adverse implications.

Lead pricing strategy development, including conducting pricing analysis, evaluating market dynamics, and assessing competitor pricing strategies to optimize product pricing and maximize profitability. Regularly reviews market conditions and brand forecasting, to refine provincial solutions.

Leads and oversees as a Role Model the performance and development of the Specialty team, including annual strategy execution, performance management programs (GPS and Check-in) and talent management programs (Individual Development Plan, Talent Review, Succession Plan, etc.) in a timely, consistent, and objective manner.

Creates necessary relationships with government – Federal, Provincial, etc. – partnering with external stakeholders to ensure negotiation and influence over regulations, and policy, where appropriate. Position launched products to ensure access and reimbursement.

Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, medical affairs, regulatory affairs and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of market access and pricing strategies with overall business objectives.

Develops and executes on business processes – CBR, QBR, Brand Plan, Budget, etc. – including market analysis, competitor intelligence, market research, KOL engagement (Ad Boards, etc.)

University degree in Pharmacy, a Life Sciences related field, business, marketing, or comparable program. Post-graduate education MSc or MBA is a plus.

5-7 years progressive experience in Market Access (including Pricing, Health Economics, etc.).

Proven track record of success in developing and executing market access and pricing strategies for pharmaceutical products.

Proven track record and launch experience in Market Access.

Understanding of Market Access function and impact on Marketing and Sales strategies.

Deep knowledge of government statutes, regulations, processes, and procedures regarding provincial formulary listings.

Comprehensive awareness of private payer policies, processes, and procedures for listing of drug benefit.

Expertise in local Market Access-related requirements, and processes, including negotiations with regulatory authorities – CADTH, Health Canada, provincial and federal governments, etc.

Strong understanding of healthcare systems, payer dynamics, and reimbursement processes in key markets, including knowledge of health economics, health technology assessment (HTA), and value-based pricing.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, and when representing Ferring in external partners.

Strong analytical skills, influencing competencies, problem solving methods, negotiation experience, and general business acumen.

Ability to translate complex data and insights into actionable recommendations and strategies.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally and effectively manage teams and stakeholders; both written and oral as well as presentation.

Effective time and project management capabilities.

People management experience and skill.
