DescriptionEquinox Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in gas processing expertise and technical innovation, and we specialize in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional, Carbon Capture, and heavy oil projects. Our clients include several of the top ten largest oil & gas producers in Canada, and we are currently executing a wide range of sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil, heavy oil facility and pipeline projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high quality design drawings in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Produce drawings for the various disciplines of the company, including Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation.
  • Lead the projects at the Electrical Designer level
  • Strong knowledge in Electrical Drafting techniques and practices
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID’s
  • Capability to drive the Electrical Design process with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Types of drawings include: Area Classification, Grounding, Single Line Diagrams, Layouts, Schematics, Schedules, Panel Drawings, Junction Box Drawings, and As-Builts, and how they relate to each other.
  • Prepare drawing indexes, typical drawings and bill of materials.
  • Effectively communicate the status of tasks, design changes and continuous improvement items to the rest of the team and other disciplines
  • Maintain proficiency with the most up to date drafting software.

Key Skills & Abilities
  • Post secondary education such as Engineering Design and Drafting, Electrical Technologist or CET
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2016 - 2022, CAD Fabrication MEP, and or Autocad Electrical
  • Working knowledge of 3D modelling using Cad Fabrication MEP, Autocad or Bentley AutoPlant, Navisworks.
  • Fundamental computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, BlueBeam.
  • Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry with EPCM design experience
  • Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Ability to coordinate and help facilitate our workshare program, as a fundamental at Equinox is required
