What you will do

  • Fully support the Regional and District Manager (RM/DM) in operational functions of various sites across the region.
  • Knowledge of company/client policies to deliver superior quality of operational services and to ensure the well-being of guards.
  • Ensure site staff is fully trained, well-dressed, and possess the necessary knowledge to comprehend and follow their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure guards are following Post-Orders and adhering to company and client policies.
  • Delivery of resources to site as and when required and mentor guards to ensure high quality services are being provided.
  • Cover floor time as required, comprising the majority of work hours.
  • Support RM/DM with on-site issues, interruptions and complaints in the assigned district, as needed.
  • Assist RM/DM to ensure all staff site reports are completed accurately and professionally, as needed.
  • Assume leadership and maintain positive working relationships with site guards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons.
  • Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Complete incident reports and all required documentation for security purposes.
  • Identify security violations/threats, diffuse volatile situations and intervene accordingly, adhering to company policies.
  • Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Valid Security License
  • Experience with arrests and detainments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Retail security experience.
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle is required
  • Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Passionate about training and mentoring Guard staff
  • Understand they will work shifts as required (32-40 hours/week) in addition to occasional Supervisory duties across the region
  • Use of Force Training - is an asset

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Greater Sudbury, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Supervising: 1 year (preferred)
  • Security: 1 year (required)
  • Loss Prevention/Retail Security: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
  • Security Guard Licence (required)
  • Use of Force (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)

Work Location: In person
