Sacks Industrial Corp in Vancouver, Canada, has a long history of industrial development & creation of high-speed/complex machinery for this purpose. The company has conducted extensive research and machine development and construction over its history and plans long range projects into the future. There are many new innovative projects that the company is undertaking that requires a senior designer position to work with our engineering team for the successful development of the machinery for these projects.

The duties of this position are:

· Conceptualize design of new high-speed multi component mechanical: forming, assembling, coating, conveying, processing equipment

· Produce preliminary sketches and drawings to demonstrate concepts for review

· Perform all necessary calculations to determine all forces, including static, dynamic, and inertial competence

· Calculate power requirements and calculate sizing of all components

· Prepare specifications & detailed assembly drawings for purchased components

· Included in the design will be the machine frames which are normally weldments. This will require structural analysis including welded designs, stress relieving specifications, and final machining

· Criteria for machine design is speed of operation, robust design to prevent high maintenance and downtime, operator safety & friendliness, ease of maintenance, low scrap rates, high operating efficiencies.

Requirements for the position

· Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical training

· 5 to 7 years minimum of experience in the design of high-speed complex mechanical systems

· Proficiency with SolidWorks and engineering calculation software

· communication skills, spoken and written

· Attitude - to be inquisitive, creative, formulate ideas, good observation skills, good problem-solving, finding solutions to challenges

· Knowledge of modern machine concepts utilizing servos where appropriate, VFD’s, PLC’s, and computerized control

· Knowledge of types of electronic sensors that can be utilized for automation and confirmation of functions

· Knowledge of robotics and automation would be an asset

· Experience with mineral and mineral powder processing; pulverizing comminution, coating blending & high-speed packaging machinery will all be helpful

This position offers a starting wage of $125,000/yr & benefits package.

Assistance provided for immigration legal costs & relocation expenses. Remote work within the immigration interim will be considered.
