Production Supervisor & Industrial Mechanic - Night Shift

Job descriptionReporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Supervisor & Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the management and supervision of production activities. They will ensure the effective management of the team to guarantee the manufacturing of good quality products in accordance with standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements in an environment where health and safety are priorities. Acting as a vector of communication and mobilization to help the development of staff. Provide electrical or mechanical repairs as required to ensure production is maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Make sure to have the necessary raw materials on hand to proceed with production.
  • Effectively monitor current production to achieve operational targets within the required time frame.
  • Organize and control the work of the production team. Manage the schedule, attendance, overtime, and punches of employees.
  • Mobilize production team around common objectives to ensure superior performance and a high retention rate.
  • Evaluate the performance of each member of the production team, provide positive reinforcement or address discrepancies as appropriate by carrying out rigorous monitoring to ensure that production objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to the training and effective integration of new employees.
  • Responsible for building a culture oriented towards the health and safety of team members by maintaining a safe work environment and always ensuring the application and respect of safe work methods.
  • Collaborate in the installation and startup of new equipment.
  • Trouble shooting breakdowns on production equipment.
  • Carry out electrical or mechanical repairs.
Requirements
  • Professional study diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics.
  • Collegial training in operation management or relevant supervisor experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Experience in management or employee’s supervision in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of machine safety and health and safety would be considerable asset.
  • Demonstrate leadership and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicts.
  • Great sense of autonomy and initiative.
