Job Summary

Responsible for performing day to day tasks in receiving, stocking, order picking, and distribution based on established procedures and guidelines for all items inventoried at the Distribution Center. This includes medical supplies, linen, forms, records, equipment, and furniture.

Supervisor: Manager, Mercy Co-worker Stores

Key Responsibilities
  • Adheres to system-wide safety regulations.
  • Assesses safety needs and provides a safe and clean environment.
  • Observes and reports changes or unusual occurrences immediately.
  • Follows infection control procedures and completes incident reports.
  • Coordinates services with couriers and ensures customer expectations are met.
  • Works closely with Receiving Clerk and Warehouse Manager.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and responds positively to changes.
  • Generates shipping labels and operates forklift and picking equipment safely.
  • Ensures stored equipment is maintained at high standards.
  • Accurately receives and stages merchandise.
  • Responsible for inventory management and minor housekeeping tasks.
  • Communicates and applies Health Care/CDC policies.
  • Maintains high standards of customer service and assists customers.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with staff and visitors.
  • Participates in unit activities and promotes unit operations.
  • Maintains and utilizes office-specific technological functions.
  • Demonstrates competence in Microsoft Office software applications and other relevant software.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Service-oriented with a background in purchasing and computer/warehouse procedures.
  • Proficient with forklift and picker equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
EDUCATION
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Typing and general computer familiarity, including data entry helpful
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to lift 35 to 50 lbs.; can bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. Physical demands include push, pull, and grip up to 30 lbs.
OSHA CATEGORY

The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Persons in this role are not expected to perform emergency care or first aid.
