Your Role:

As a Senior Inspector at Cara Engineering, you'll be an integral part of our Contract Administration team within the Transportation sector. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to MTO and Municipal projects across Northwest & Northeast Ontario. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be crucial in overseeing contractor compliance with project specifications and ensuring the high quality of our infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications during construction.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and monitor construction practices for adherence to standards.
  • Interpret contract drawings and specifications to ensure accurate implementation on-site.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of work, materials, and construction methods.
  • Manage and report on inspection activities and construction progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily construction activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in site inspection, preferably with exposure to MTO Construction Bridge or Highway projects, is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Inspector role, preferably with exposure to MTO and municipal construction projects, is required.
  • Professional designations like RCCA, RCSI from OACETT, or E.I.T status are preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, analytical and negotiation abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including the CAIS Manual and CMS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, is considered a plus.
  • Valid Ontario G or G2 Driver's license.
