Who Are You
You have at least 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a strong background in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. You have a proven track record of maintaining robust internal controls, preparing accurate tax filings, and managing budgeting and forecasting processes. You excel in leading and mentoring others, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. With exceptional analytical skills, you provide key financial insights to support strategic decision-making. What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will oversee financial reporting and conduct in-depth financial analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities include maintaining robust internal controls, preparing and filing tax returns, and managing the budgeting and forecasting processes. You will also assist with external audits, support process improvements, and provide key financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Create and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of AP and AR tasks, including payments and collections.
- Monitor the preparation and reconciliation of bank statements, ensuring any discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including GST, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Prepare and file tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain and improve the system of internal controls over accounting transactions.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required information.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the team's accounting knowledge and skills.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement accounting software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes.
- Work closely with customers and vendors to resolve any accounting issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, billing, and payment processes.
- Review and approve AP contracts before entry.
What You Bring To The Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Proven track record in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting and billing software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zuora).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with tax regulations and filing procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in conducting in-depth financial analysis and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and improve internal controls over accounting transactions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
