The primary responsibility is to support the implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure. This individual will assist in deploying cloud-based applications and services, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to the optimization of cloud resources. Working under the guidance of more senior cloud engineers, this individual will help ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of cloud environments.

This is a hybrid role with no mandatory days in the office. We do expect that the candidate is available to come in for purpose-driven planned, and ad-hoc meetings such as in-person team collaborations, team events, workshops, etc. based on team needs.

About The Role:

  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure availability and reliability through resource provisioning, continuous monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting.
  • Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures or outages.
  • Support the deployment of cloud-based applications and services.
  • Adhere to best practices for application configuration including version control, environment management, and integration with existing systems.
  • Facilitate scaling and load balancing to handle variable demand and optimize resource usage.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures.
  • Protect cloud resources and data through effective access control, security auditing, and patch management.
  • Monitor and respond to security threats by staying informed on the latest vulnerabilities and implementing necessary updates and fixes.

What You Need to Succeed:

Education:

  • Diploma or Degree in software engineering, computer science, or information technology.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Cloud.

Skill requirements

  • Cloud Platform Proficiency: A strong understanding in Azure and its services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in IaC tools such as Bicep and ARM.
  • Scripting and Automation: Solid programming and scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate routine tasks and optimize cloud operations.
  • Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, load balancers, and VPNs, to design and maintain secure and efficient network architectures.
  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and the ability to implement and follow security best practices within cloud environments.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in cloud monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) to proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service.
