Senior Business Analyst with data governance/lineage (Informatica/Collibra) and SQL/PowerBI experience to support core regulatory and transformation projects with one of our major banking clients- 34239

Location Address: Toronto- (Hybrid1-3 days/week)

Contract Duration: 5-6 months w/extension to April 30, 2025, with business case approval (pending)

Story Behind the Need

  • Business group: Global Risk Management (GRM)
  • Retail and Small Business Models, Analytics & Strategy (RMAS) develops and owns (end-to-end), the Bank’s Retail AIRB Capital Forecasting and Retail Decisioning Models (Originations, Account Management, Collections)

Project:

  • Supports various core work and Regulatory / transformational projects

Typical Day in Role:

  • You will be a critical member of a team collaborating, on a near daily basis, with a wide range of cross-bank stakeholders and internal partners including Model Developers, Project Management Office, Technology & Data teams, Finance, Model Operations, and internal challenge functions.

Must Have Skills:

  • 10+ Years as a Business Analyst or experience with data / analytic-driven roles translating complex human processes to mathematical algorithms
  • Strong fundamental understanding of business analysis, requirements definition, process mapping, data mapping and financial analysis
  • Proficient in data governance/lineage (ex. Informatica, Collibra) and data management (SQL, PowerBI) tools
  • Refined ability to translate data extraction, transformation, and analysis into queries/code (SQL)
  • Expert level skills with business productivity software (ex., MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, JIRA, MS Teams, Lists)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with credit risk models/scorecards
  • An understanding of statistical prediction, estimation and forecasting models
  • Programming experience (Python, SAS) with both legacy / traditional (RDBMS) and big data (Hadoop / Hive / Spark) systems
  • An appreciation for advanced statistical approaches used to assess and address uncertainty
  • Proficient reading, writing and speaking Spanish
  • Domain expertise with retail & small business banking products and risk management practices

Education & Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Sciences, Business / Commerce, Finance, or equivalent field

Candidate review and selection:

  • 2 rounds of interviews
  • 1 – Senior managers; 45min – 1 hour for behavioral, technical, critical thinking, logical questions etc.
  • 2 – Director; 1 hour for behavioral, presentations, case study, etc.
