IT SpecialistJob DescriptionKongsberg Geospatial is seeking an IT Specialist for a 1-year contract to collaborate with our IT department. The role involves installing and maintaining computer systems with the goal of achieving optimal functionality. A successful IT Specialist must work well with others and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. An interest in Cybersecurity is considered an asset.This position is required to be onsite in the Kanata office 5 days per week.Duties include:Manage help desk system and maintain technical documentationSet up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devicesCreate virtual machines and environmentsCreate small cloud deployments for testing and customer demonstrationsInstall and configure appropriate software and maintain latest patchesManage software licenses and SSL certificatesMeeting room supportEnsure security and privacy of networks and computer systemsOrganize and schedule upgrades and maintenance accordinglyPerform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problemsDocument installation and configuration proceduresYou have:Post-secondary degree in a field related to IT and/or two years of relevant experienceAbility to work well in a team environment and with minimal supervisionExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of diverse computer systems and networksExperience configuring both Windows and Linux operating systemsUnderstanding of networking protocolsStrong interest in Cybersecurity standards and complianceKnowledge of scripting for automationKnowledge of M365 administrationDue to the volume of applicants, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
