What you will be doing
  • Providing leadership and expert advice on service delivery issues, planning, service development approaches and create best-practice service delivery goals, standards and measures of success to ensure expectations are clear and that service delivery strategies are well aligned to overall Information Management & Technology objectives.
  • Developing and implementing service delivery priorities, strategies, and programs in short, medium, and long-term timeframes to meet the diverse needs of key stakeholders and communities.
  • Driving and overseeing financial, human, physical and intellectual capital/resources, and their interdependencies in an operationally effective and efficient manner to better facilitate service delivery and optimize outcomes for service recipients.
  • Managing delivery of products / services to achieve agreed end results; recognize and pursue opportunities to advance the scope of services offered; and will be the primary owner of the budget, forecast, and budget management for assigned accounts.
  • Developing and controlling annual operating expenditure budget for IM&T Operations to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of the enterprise and is within plan.
  • Enhancing the capabilities of IM&T by leveraging a multitude of resources, both internally and externally.
  • Developing and maintaining an IM&T workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies that balance the needs between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable, and efficient.
  • Measuring and tracking delivery ROI on identified transformation opportunities for customer experience along with driving continuous process improvement culture across customer experience.
  • Interacting at executive/senior management level, proactively advocating for solutions and managing the customer escalation process.
  • Leveraging existing (ServiceNow) and additional relevant technologies for reporting and analytics across customer service and other customer facing functions to improve people, processes, and delivery experience to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Providing high quality service strategy advice to effectively inform strategic planning processes.
  • Developing and executing robust service delivery governance and risk frameworks to identify, manage and minimize financial, reputational, and service delivery risks.
  • Monitoring and evaluating service delivery processes and outcomes to ensure service delivery is efficient and cost effective and to action necessary improvements as required.
  • Experience over operational and financial responsibility for overall engagement through the strategic application of Information Management & Technology and client resources.
  • Leading the establishment and execution of a digital workplace strategy that ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive, and effective.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other C-level executives and business unit leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IM&T services to meet those needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities. Uses influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership and business partners to define and execute the digital business strategy. Participates in and contributes to the assessment of external digital opportunities and threats, and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
  • Driving adoption of the IM&T mission and vision to foster business-oriented culture and mindset.
  • Supporting the development of the IM&T strategy and roadmap; ensures its integration with the enterprise's strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business.
  • Providing strategic direction on information asset protection, information governance, library operations, and document control processes.
  • Implementing strategies for the efficient organization, classification, and retrieval of organizational information assets and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enforce information management policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining currency on new technologies and platforms and provides direction on what emerging technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the enterprise to ensure IM&T capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise's digital business strategy.
  • Providing strategic direction in the IM&T organization's innovation efforts and role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of those opportunities in the fulfillment of the digital business strategy of the enterprise.
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience in IT/IM and business/industry.
  • Five to seven years of leadership responsibilities.
  • Preferably five or more years of experience in related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams and/or enterprise wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial analysis
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL) are a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Security (ISO 27001) and Nuclear Cyber Security (CSA N290.7-14/N290.7-21) standards and frameworks is required, with demonstrated experience implementing complex management system programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development.
  • Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments by taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate an IM&T vision that inspires and motivates IT staff and aligns to the business strategy.
  • Ability to instill confidence in the business and demonstrate the business value of IM&T.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Expertise in budget planning and financial management.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business and how they may be applied to the enterprise to drive digital business.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic people plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied.
  • Ability to identify and leverage resources internally and externally to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that drive digital business.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities that effectively balance the needs between continuously exploiting capabilities to optimize operational efficiency and delivering innovative and agile IT solutions to enable the business to explore digital business opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IM&T workforce
Security clearance eligibility required: Level 3 Top Secret which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. Location of Work - Hybrid
  • This role is based out of CNL’s Chalk River site, however, subject to the terms of this agreement, the primary work location will be remote. The role will require some regular and frequent attendance at the Chalk River site. The schedule and frequency will be determined by discussions with the manager as well as internal client and project needs. CNL may require travel from time to time, as necessary.
