Job Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Care to oversee the healthcare services in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, nursing, and medication administration. As the Director of Care, you will be responsible for managing the healthcare team, ensuring quality care delivery, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Duties:

  1. Develop and implement care plans for residents in accordance with their individual needs.
  2. Supervise nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure proper care delivery.
  3. Manage medication administration processes and maintain accurate records.
  4. Oversee budgeting for healthcare services and supplies.
  5. Coordinate with families and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  6. Implement programs for dementia care and other specialized services.
  7. Ensure compliance with all regulations related to Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA).

Skills:

  1. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a healthcare team.
  2. Experience in senior care, nursing, and assisted living environments.
  3. Proficient in budgeting and financial management related to healthcare services.
  4. Knowledge of dementia care best practices.
  5. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
