Description

North America Battery Test Lab is seeking a Battery Pack Test Engineer to execute various battery pack development and validation tests to support our strong Electric Vehicle portfolio. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a world-class battery lab from the launch stage to full operation.

Responsibilities
  1. In lab launch stage:
    • Complete all required training and follow safety requirements
    • Become competent in using the hardware and software of the battery pack test system
    • Ensure hardware and software support needs are addressed during equipment installation
    • Support the commissioning of equipment
  2. Lab in full operation:
    • Perform day-to-day testing
    • Keep test requestors informed on test status
    • Employ best practices in all tests and test reports
    • Resolve test issues proactively
    • Work with schedulers to maintain equipment utilization
Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Practical skills in laboratory tools and instruments
  • Experience in setting up, maintaining, and monitoring tests
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, battery performance, and testing
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Master of Science degree or higher in relevant field
  • Experience with AVL PUMA or similar battery test systems
  • Experience with CAN tools like Vector CANalyzer
  • Proficiency in data processing using MATLAB or Python
  • Prior experience with ISO or accreditation
Additional Must-Haves
  • Knowledge of EV batteries key characteristics and performance indices
  • Hands-on experience in vehicle components/subsystem testing, preferably EV or battery-related
  • Familiarity with CAN bus communication and tools
  • Location: Onsite at ARDC, Rhodes Drive, Windsor, ON, CA
  • No Driving a Stellantis Vehicle required
  • Occasional travel to the US CTC or 3rd party facility in MI (1-2 times per month)
