Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President Operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director, Product Lifecycle to lead all aspects of our Sustaining Engineering program in maintaining and enhancing our existing product lines. In this role, the Director will implement a product lifecycle roadmap and prioritization strategy and build the team to execute it. This role is crucial for our product vitality strategy realization.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans and processes for sustaining engineering activities, including the product maintenance portfolio management, change management (ECR/ECO) and release to production.
  2. Contribute to the strategic roadmap with R&D and Product Management.
  3. Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of existing products, ensuring they meet quality, reliability and performance standards.
  4. Act as primary contact for sustaining engineering matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Partner with R&D Program teams to ensure smooth implementation of new products in production.
  6. Lead the Product Lifecycle Management software implementation initiative.
  7. Oversee the PDM systems and processes through the various databases, including the ERP and PLM.
  8. Lead and inspire the product lifecycle team, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  9. Develop and implement the product lifecycle annual operating and capital budgets.
  10. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all sustaining engineering activities.
  11. Implement Sustaining Engineering performance metrics.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustaining engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  3. Strong knowledge of electronics design, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
  4. Excellent leadership skills with experience in driving projects to closure.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Self-starter with ability to drive change in a cross-functional setting.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality improvement methodologies.
