Responsibilities:
  1. Repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of a wide range of medical devices and equipment
  2. Perform incoming inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  3. Provide support for clinical users and address equipment-related issues
  4. Assist with evaluation, installation and implementation of new medical equipment
  5. Stay updated on advances in medical technology and participate in training sessions
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an Accredited Biomedical Engineering Technician/Technology Program or equivalent qualifications, education or experience
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience with medical equipment (hospital environment preferred)
  • Current member of OACETT/CMBES or eligibility for membership
  • Knowledge of electronics, medical instrumentation, troubleshooting, and recognized regulatory standards required
  • Technical knowledge of PC’s, servers, networking (including wireless & cybersecurity), and various PC based applications
  • Valid 'G' driver's license and ability to travel to all 3 hospital sites
  • Must be physically able to do the job
  • Satisfactory attendance and employment record
  • Demonstrate commitment to ensure safety of the healthcare team, patients, and visitors
  • Excellent command of the English language (oral, written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
