The Role

Starbright Children's Development Centre, located in the heart of the beautiful Okanagan Valley, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our dedicated team.

This position can be either full-time or part-time, and involves providing screening, assessment, direct intervention, and consultation services to children from birth to kindergarten entry.

This position is a union position and requires union membership enrolment.

Key Responsibilities:

Screening and Assessment: Identify speech, language, social/pragmatic, voice, and fluency deficits in children.
Direct Intervention: Develop and implement therapy plans tailored to individual needs.
Consultation Services: Offer guidance to families and other professionals on managing and supporting children's communication development.
Areas of Specialization include (but are not limited to): Work with children with language delays, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and those requiring augmentative communication.

Starbright Children's Development Centre is a charitable non-profit organization providing therapy and program services to a variety of families with children birth to school age eligibility throughout the Central Okanagan. With generous assistance from the community, the province and many donors we have continued to provide quality services for families since 1966.

The Person

Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Experience: Preferred 2 years recent experience with children under six.
Professional Membership: Membership in the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
Driving License: Valid BC Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Criminal Record Check: Successful clearance required as per the Criminal Records Review Act covering working with children and vulnerable adults.
Combination of Education and Experience: An equivalent combination will be considered.
