Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  1. Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
  2. Comfortable working in a multifaceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
  3. Willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
  4. Motivated self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously
  5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and a proven understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an asset
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  1. Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
  2. Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed designs for mechanical projects on site such as upgrades to mobile mining equipment, processing plant or building facilities
  3. Coordinate the plan and schedule for maintenance shutdown work
  4. Support operations and work with skilled trades to design/build lifting devices and other aids for maintenance
  5. Project Management; opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects relating to plant, mine and maintenance expansions and modifications; responsible for organizing, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
  6. Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost-effective solutions
  7. Build and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
