The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining a strong volunteer base for the Medicine Hat Ministry Unit for their programs, campaigns, and events. *NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation. Education/Certifications: · The successful job applicant will have completed a minimum of one (1) year of Community College. · An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable. Experience: · A minimum of two years of prior related experience. Required Skills & Capabilities:
  • Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.
  • Provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Policy Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving, scheduling and analytical skills.
  • The performance of the job requires phone use, keyboarding and lifting.
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
  • Friendly disposition with public
  • Attentive listening, empathy to staff, clients, and volunteers
  • Team oriented and able to take initiative, willingness to work with people from diverse cultural background.
  • Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and associated legislation.
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in mandatory orientation training including on-line abuse prevention certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and current drivers abstract required.
