JOB OVERVIEWThe Tax, Retirement and Estate Planning (TREP) team at CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM) provides tax, retirement, and estate planning support to its Sales team, financial advisors, and planners. We are currently looking for a Director, Tax, Retirement, and Estate Planning to join our team in Toronto. This position, reporting to the Vice President and Team Lead, TREP, requires proficiency in both English and French.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with TREP and Sales teams to develop materials driving the sales of CI GAM products.
- Act as a subject matter expert to identify tax, retirement, and estate planning opportunities and solutions.
- Provide education and information to advisors and investors through various channels.
- Support Sales in leveraging tax and estate planning strategies for CI GAM sales.
- Resolve client inquiries and assist in media interviews and presentations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to share technical knowledge and meet company goals.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitors to assess TREP-related strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual in French/English.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax and estate laws.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary degree in business or legal field.
- Financial planning, accounting, or legal designation (e.g., CFP, CPA, CA, LL.B, LL.M, JD, TEP).
- Research, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in tax and estate planning resources.
Occasional travel to industry events may be required. Some overtime may be necessary. This position is based in a dynamic office environment with a hybrid work model.
