Responsibilities
- This will require manual work and sometimes working on powered equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
- To perform ice/snow clearance operation.
- To drive and manage the non-revenue vehicle Rail road crane, ballast regulator, Hi Rail Vehicle when required.
- To carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.
- To participate in the maintenance of some other assets (Tunnel ventilation, security system, Pumps etc.).
- To carry out all levels of examination and work arising involving the Equipment/working manuals, shunting & Reformation exams.
- To exchange or repair some of the assets of the subsystems.
- To undertake other duties related to the environment of the assets or of work as specified by the Team leaders and/or Systems Operation Manager in a safe manner.
- In case of accident or major failure, to participate in the rescue/corrective operations.
- To report activities (work orders/inspections) through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and Tabs.
- To supervise and/or follow any subcontract activities.
- To adhere to Company procedures especially in relation to Quality and Health & Safety.
- To attend regular team briefings.
- To read reports and manuals as and when required.
- To drive company vehicles when required.
- To respect, clean, and maintain the work environment.
- To work with the Rail System Team in case of emergency or extreme weather (snow/ice) in order to maintain the line operation.
- Perform monitoring of incoming work orders in GSI.
- To be able to allocate Service Orders in SES.
- To work at night and weekends.
Mandatory:
- Min 5-7 years’ experience as a track technician.
- Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Occasionally has to share skills/information with others.
- G license mandatory.
- Work at height, outdoor, and during the night will be required.
- Knowledge of Rail/Vehicle environment is preferable.
- Planning and organization. Prioritizes the daily workload.
- Flexible and adaptable. Can adapt to new ideas.
- Conscientious. Meets proposed deadlines.
- Attentive to details. Ability to consistently produce factual and detailed information.
- Team spirit. Supports team members.
- Entrepreneurial spirit. Works well in a team environment.
