Join our Global Technology Strategy and Transformation Team

Reporting to our Director, you will support our impactful engineering teams by delivering on our promises to our customers. The successful candidate will use their well-developed data analysis and business intelligence skills to improve process and gain insights through data.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Foster a high-performance engineering culture that embodies Manulife’s values.
  • Provide meaningful metrics to tell the SDLC story though concise analysis of collected data.
  • Support and collaborate with cross-segment Engineering leaders, on key critical metrics, achievements, and development for their squads by embracing data analysis to improve software development life cycles.
  • Lead engineering squad transition efforts including working closely with the leadership team to progressively mature our practices and continually improve all aspects of the software delivery process.
  • Ability to work with engineering data, metrics and reports by identifying patterns and trends and being able to draw meaningful interpretations from it.
  • Understanding of software development processes (agile, scrum, etc ), methodologies, and workflows coupled with the ability to articulate technical concepts and derive solutions.
  • Implementing programs during onboarding and post-onboarding that will ensure success of engineering teams.
  • Ongoing management consultation to iterate on success planning. Proactively take corrective actions in a timely manner and make strategic recommendations to help engineering managers be more successful.
  • Proven ability to influence and coach desired behaviours.
  • An eye for seeing where and when technical and workflow patterns and behaviours can be improved.Assist with p lan ning and execut ion of organization wide learning events to foster a culture of learning and growt h.

We are looking for someone with:

  • 2-5 years related engineering or software delivery experience with expectation that you are a hands-on practitioner. collaborating with engineering teams and building diverse and inclusive engineering culture where team members are highly collaborative and willing to learn and grow.
  • Previous experience with Engineering Management Platform tools ( ie Pluralsight Flow, LinearB , Jellyfish, etc )
  • Prioritizes efficient knowledge and succession planning and measurement by using data driven analysis, recommendations, and patterns.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.
  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate delivery, possibilities, and outcomes.
  • Ability to coach and mentor technical teams and communicating researced patterns to drive efficiency to processes.Ability to collaborate in a matrix environment and provide support to regionally diverse teams.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
