Job InformationAs the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for managing, planning, designing, and conducting all mandatory clinical education for healthcare professionals in the Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Health Records, and Rehabilitation units. In addition to conducting clinical education needs assessments, you will develop and plan education programs and deliver this education to all Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH) employees. These programs will also be offered to Aurora College nursing students and employees from other health authorities and regions. You will teach and/or coordinate the delivery of 30 plus mandatory certifications to STH employees. Each course is offered anywhere from 2 to 20 times a year to accommodate shift workers and operational requirements. You will perform patient care procedures at the bedside when demonstrating proper skills or when checking the placement of equipment. You will also be required to set up and move equipment in the classroom and from other off-site locations used for education. You will facilitate groups of people, with varied experience and backgrounds. You will be required to exhibit flexibility to meet the learning needs of students. You will be required to write and edit education programs; produce a variety of written reports; and hold numerous instructor certifications for nationally recognized programs. You will act as a role model in promoting evidence-based practice and enhancement of clinical skills.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and additional education in adult learning approaches and five (5) years of acute care nursing experience.
