Your main responsibilities:
The structural engineer will design steel, reinforced concrete and wood structures in compliance with codes and other regulations, in collaboration with DPHV's drafting and engineering team. In addition, he or she will participate in the detailed production of plans and specifications, and produce technical reports and opinions following inspections and field surveys. Versatile by nature, the structural engineer must be able to organize his or her work well in order to manage the many projects entrusted to him or her.

  • Design various small, medium and large-scale structural projects
  • Analyze, design and adapt steel, concrete and wood building structures for commercial, residential, institutional and industrial projects.
  • Ensure that plans meet project requirements as well as building codes and standards
  • Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications
  • Verify and coordinate work in progress in collaboration with other project participants
  • Participate in site meetings
  • Survey existing installations
  • Write technical reports for expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or building engineering, structural option
  • Master's degree in structure (asset)
  • 5 years of relevant experience - experience in the consulting engineering field in Quebec will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of ETABS, SAP and SAFE software
  • Valid ASP card
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel (asset)

  • Strong interest in structural calculations (design) and engineering
  • Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn
  • Fluency in French (oral and written)
  • Excellent management of time and priorities
  • Team spirit, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and interest in improving automated calculation tools
