Summary of day to day responsibilities:

  1. Working as a lead Java developer in Capital Markets operations.
  2. Develop and host web enabled and database driven applications in Java. Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions.
  3. Design and develop quality solutions for systems issues consistent with project objectives.
  4. Develop, implement and maintain solutions that maximize system availability.
  5. Periodic scope assistance.
  6. A vacancy exists for a developer to join the team in the delivery and development of this project and to eventually contribute to future enhancement, support and maintenance post-delivery.
  7. As part of this team, prime responsibility will be to:
    1. Work with other team members to cooperatively design, develop and deploy quality solutions in order to satisfy project objectives and client requirements.
    2. Write, test and debug code. Participate in code reviews.
    3. Comply with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
    4. Take part in construction of the requirements, design, testing and deployment documents.
    5. Ensure consistency in coding standards.
    6. Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term.
    7. Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation as required.

SKILLS: Development experience in distributed windows or Java environment. Experience with SQL, Java, J2EE, HTML, etc.

Must have:

  1. Capital Markets experience (trading experience, need that middle/front office experience). Demonstrable and in-depth experience in fixed income / capital markets and middle office operations and post-trade workflows.
  2. Java
  3. Spring
  4. SQL
  5. Non-SQL databases (preferable MongoDB)
  6. Messaging framework
  7. High social intelligence and fluid communication skills required for brokering complex technical solutions between multiple stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrable experience of independently leading and delivering meaningful projects described in part as:
    1. Lead developer in a team of 4-6 developers.
    2. Development and delivery periods spanning over a year.
    3. High complexity:
      1. System migrations/replacements (must explain why).
      2. Onboarding of new business.
      3. Multiple stakeholders / high profile / major importance.
