This role will be responsible for underwriting and driving the profitable growth of a portfolio of property and casualty (P&C) business across the Ontario and the Eastern Canada. The primary focus will be on P&C Package, Commercial General Liability (CGL), Excess Liability, as well as Property, Automobile, and Umbrella lines. The successful candidate will manage relationships with key brokers and clients while contributing to operational improvements.Key Responsibilities:Underwrite and manage a portfolio of new and renewal P&C business, contributing to the region's profitable growth in key product lines.Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., risk services, actuaries, claims) to achieve profitable growth through research, relationship building, and technical expertise.Drive new business growth by maintaining a high-quality pipeline of prospects, leveraging targeted marketing, cross-selling, and account expansion opportunities with key broker partners.Ensure sound risk selection, thorough exposure reviews, and the setting of profitable terms and conditions, in line with underwriting guidelines and strategies.Required Qualifications and Skills:At least 3 years of experience underwriting commercial P&C insurance.Strong understanding of P&C policy wordings and their impact on claims management.Self-motivated with strong analytical abilities and a solutions-driven mindset to support profitable growth.Comfortable with critical thinking and embracing a growth mindset, taking diverse perspectives into account when making decisions.
