Senior Underwriter - Toronto

Our client is one of the worlds leading insurance underwriters.

As a Senior Underwriter working out of the downtown Toronto office, you would manage a portfolio which would require you to develop/maintain relationships with brokers and senior executives from major publicly traded Canadian companies.

Key Responsibilities include:

-Underwriting D&O portfolio and industry classes

-Relationship management and servicing of brokers

-Risk/financial assessment and development of underwriting solutions

-Growing the target business

-Occasional traveling to support broker relationships.

Ideal Traits/Qualifications:

-College/University education with emphasis on Business/Finance preferred

-Advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting financial statements

-5+ years working experience in a professional environment

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

-Proven organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills

-Emphasis on being detail oriented

-Good problem solving ability

-Willingness to be flexible and take initiative

-Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish goals

-Knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel, and data processing systems)

-Billingualism (English/French) is an asset.
