Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Cabot Cape Breton to recruit an Assistant Director, Talent & Culture to join their team in Inverness, Nova Scotia.

Located on over a mile of sandy beach along the coast of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Cabot features 46 holes of exhilarating golf and one of the best resort experiences in Canada. Role Description:
As the Assistant Director of Talent & Culture, reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, you will lead the development and implementation of Human Resources policies and processes while supporting recruitment, training and onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, Occupational Health and Safety, HR compliance, and performance management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Talent & Culture Department;
  • Support Talent Acquisition and Recruitment functions;
  • Develop, review, and improve employee programs;
  • Implement strategies to support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI);
  • Promote positive Employee Relations through open communication and mutual respect;
  • Assist leaders with action plans based on employee feedback;
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and service standards;
  • Other projects as assigned by the Director, Talent & Culture.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a natural relationship builder and exceptional problem solver. Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline;
  • 3+ years of strong Generalist experience in HR;
  • CPHR designation (or candidacy) is a strong asset;
  • Experience in Human Resources within the Hospitality industry is a strong asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
