In this role, you’ll work on next-generation mobility vehicles and software systems, bringing groundbreaking alternate transportation options to life. You’ll collaborate with business areas, vendor partners, and your team to develop and deliver BCAA’s mobility and micro-mobility solutions, including enhancements, proofs of concept, and designs.
As an SFSD, you'll lead by example, design, implement, test, and debug software programs, and work closely with solution and data architects to troubleshoot and resolve issues. If you’re enthusiastic about making an impact in a start-up-like environment, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of mobility.
Who you are:

- You understand that business strategy drives technology innovation.
- You love learning about the evolution of the automotive & car sharing industries in BC, and continuously seek out areas to implement improvements.
- You see the big picture and have a keen eye for the details.
- You constantly look for innovative ways to solve technical problems, and you’re not afraid of challenging the status quo.
- You are an effective team player that demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changing work priorities and a wide range of organizational needs.
- Your exceptional communication skills allow you to translate technical language for non-technical audiences and translate business language for non-business audiences.
- You like to learn new forms of software architecture, and enjoy doing regular architecture work.
What you’ll do:
- Innovate and optimize technical solutions by challenging existing methods and collaborating with UI/UX and CX/Design Thinking teams to develop web and mobile solutions.
- Introduce advanced design and architecture practices to improve technology, quality, and team workflows.
- Design, develop, and document enhancements for platforms and applications to build solutions for customer problems, adhering to coding standards and influencing technical direction.
- Innovate and explore new technologies, architect data flows and user interfaces, and integrate with external software or SaaS applications to address customer needs.
- Conduct implementation, unit, and integration testing to ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable, performant, and secure, while collaborating with stakeholders and team members.
- Troubleshoot production issues, maintain platforms, provide off-hours release support as needed, and relentlessly seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance front end and backend changes independently and or in collaboration with team members.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in code integration within application development and Full-Stack development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with the following technologies:
- Front end: React/Redux, HTML5, CSS3, SASS
- Middle Tier: Amazon Web Services (authentication, gateway API, Lambda, RDS), Javascript (NodeJS, ReactJS), Python, RESTful web services (web application architecture), 3rd party SaaS integration
