Job Description

Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets as well as our vast expertise in the field allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), and the Site C hydro-electric power station located near Fort St-John in British Columbia. Our seasoned team of engineers, project managers, and other specialists also put their energy into the construction of wind farms and to the benefit of hydroelectric projects such as dams, power stations, tunnels, and dikes. EBC is positioned as a true leader in this sector. Our range of specialized services has made our reputation in Canada. This position is full-time in Campbell River, British Columbia. Candidates must be local to the area or willing to relocate to be considered. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager and Project Superintendent, the Geotechnical Coordinator will efficiently manage the project documentation, submittals, reviews, and quality management processes.

Duties of this position include:

  1. Completing field assessments of the project site(s);
  2. Planning, coordinating, and managing the geotechnical aspects of the project design and project execution to ensure it meets the client's requirements;
  3. Review construction activities and support testing of geotechnical materials;
  4. Responsible for all aspects of geotechnical investigations, from project design, data analysis, and evaluation of geotechnical conditions;
  5. Oversee installation and implementation of geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs;
  6. Prepare and write proposals and technical reports;
  7. Oversee contractor and subtrade activities on the site.

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree in either Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering, preferred;
  2. Civil Construction experience is considered an asset;
  3. Possess good technical writing skills;
  4. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;
  5. Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines and work under strict time constraints;
  6. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe;
  7. Must be self-motivated and driven;
  8. Proficient in English (written and oral) with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  9. Valid BC driver's license.
