Job Description

Mission

Come and join our Transportation Group as a Design Engineer for projects in the Bridges and Transportation Structures sector. You will be part of a team that is renowned throughout the Estrie region as the reference for bridges and transportation structures. The ideal candidate has the flexibility and latitude to work on a range of projects of varying scope.

CIMA+ offers a flexible hybrid working mode that will allow the incumbent to develop and maintain an equitable balance between work and personal life, working out of our office in Sherbrooke once a week and from home.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise the design team to provide guidelines required for the execution of assigned mandates, from engineering design to completion
  • Take part in the design of transportation structures, including short-, medium- and long-span bridges (single or multiple spans), pedestrian footbridges, culverts, tunnels, retaining walls, etc.
  • Assign tasks, supervise technical personnel and verify shop drawings
  • Prepare budgetary estimates for construction costs and implementation schedules
  • Provide all support required during construction in order to validate compliance with technical specifications and with drawings and specifications
  • Draft administrative and technical specifications and expert reports, as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structures or recognized equivalent
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • 10 years of experience in the bridges and transportation structures, dams or structures sector
  • Complete mastery of design standards (S6, MTQ, etc.)
  • Mastery of Microsoft Officesuite
  • Mastery of structural software applications (e.g.: SAFI, ADA, CSI Bridge, etc.)
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written)
