Located in Kingston, Ontario, our site has an opening for a Process Engineer Intern. With over 700 employees, we are dedicated to producing quality products for the automotive airbag and engineering polymer industries. Our production plant encompasses a wide range of engineering applications, from upstream chemical processes to downstream spinning processes.

About the Internship

This is not your average internship. At INVISTA, we foster entrepreneurial spirit in all roles. As a Process Engineer Intern in our Kingston Site’s Spinning, Polymer, R&D or Quality Team, you will be involved in creating real value, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your focus will be on improving and transforming our manufacturing technology and processes for Nylon 6,6 polymers and high tenacity fibers. We believe in creating exceptional value for our shareholders and customers through high-quality products that enrich lives and contribute to sustainability.

This opportunity is for a 16-month term, starting in May 2024 through August 2025. Responsibilities
  1. Advance digitization strategies to modernize the site’s manufacturing process.
  2. Apply emerging technologies in sensors, analytics, and vision.
  3. Analyze data sets to optimize asset production processes.
  4. Provide technical support in troubleshooting production processes.
  5. Utilize data analysis to improve fiber spinning or polymer processes.
  6. Lead ongoing capital or advancement projects on site.
  7. Develop quality core tools for waste reduction and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Demonstrated initiative of a Principled Entrepreneur.
  • Currently enrolled in a University Engineering degree program (3rd year or higher).
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
