As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the RoleYou will start by being enrolled in FieldCore’s Field Engineering Program (FEP). While in the FEP, you will develop in-depth technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills. This is a unique opportunity to go through our in-person and online training curriculum as well as learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors with on-the-job training. You will gain hands-on experience and grow your career whilst traveling the world and providing power to communities. Upon successful graduation from the Field Engineering Program, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position working on Electrical Excitation.

As a TFA for Electrical Excitation you are responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System and accountable for control of costs, quality control - preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts.

How You Will Make a Difference:
  1. Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards
  2. Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures
  3. Lead execution of retrofit projects, including Excitation systems (EX2100 EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e, and HMI products), Generator Protection Systems (GPP), and Power System Stabilization systems
  4. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues
  5. Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports
  6. Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
  7. Support the business growth initiatives
  8. Trace through the software documentation
  9. Implement control constant modifications
  10. Reading and modifying software sequencing
  11. Set up and modify the hardware and software associated with the Gas/Steam Turbine Excitation / LCI system
  12. Implement excitation control system software changes
  13. Provide Technical Direction for writing install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system
  14. Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation

Special Role Requirements:
  1. Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments
  2. Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
  3. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments

Skills for Success:You should be fluent in English with strong technical competence and passion for engineering. You will also have:

  • A positive can-do attitude with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers
A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
