A career as Senior Manager, Project Portfolio at National Bank means playing an advisory and influential role to optimize the management of the bank's cross-functional portfolio, thereby contributing to the achievement of its business objectives and priorities. It also involves contributing to the strategic vision, defining new ways of working and optimally managing cross-functional technology projects. In addition, you will contribute to the Bank's transformation in terms of capacity management and execution performance.

Your job:

  1. Optimize the use of portfolio resources to achieve the bank's objectives, in line with key priorities.
  2. Establish and maintain effective partnerships with the various stakeholders contributing to the delivery of priority projects.
  3. Influence and support business line portfolio managers in the prioritization and sequencing of initiatives.
  4. Act as a delivery expert and make recommendations to management to maximize execution efficiency and speed.
  5. Ensure and optimize the budget tracking of the bank's project portfolio.
  6. Initiate changes to current methods for continuous improvement.
  7. Develop and maintain effective methodology, processes and tools for portfolio management by sharing best practices and knowledge within the organization.
  8. Set up management KPIs to measure the progress of the bank's portfolio.
  9. Produce tactical and strategic dashboards demonstrating the state of the portfolio.
  10. Deploy and maintain rigorous governance that promotes the cross-cutting prioritization of initiatives.
  11. Analyze and recommend sequencing optimizations for initiatives in the context of cross-project/sector/domain constraints.
  12. Contribute to the optimization of the project delivery framework (Agility at scale).

Basic requirements:

  1. Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and ten years of relevant experience or completed Master's degree, related to the industry, and eight years of relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in technology project portfolio management.
  3. Experience in team management.
  4. Experience managing internal and external partners and suppliers.
  5. Experience in business process improvement.
  6. Proficiency in Agile delivery methods and effective ambiguity management.
  7. Knowledge of the banking sector, an asset.
  8. Knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) an asset.
  9. Ability to simplify issues, risks and business objectives.
  10. Ability to understand the business realities of the sectors involved.
  11. Good communication and ability to synthesize at all levels of the organization (from team members to executives).
