Manufacturing Engineer

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. You will be a key part of developing innovative manufacturing solutions and supporting the design of electronic enclosure products. Working collaboratively with Product Development, Manufacturing Automation, and Production, you will define manufacturing requirements, design Process Flow Diagrams, conduct PFMEAs, and create Control Plans. You will also collaborate with Product Development in the design of custom mechanical parts by analyzing part manufacturability, understanding supplier capabilities, and developing inspection criteria. Finally, you will be responsible for designing, verifying, and validating assembly fixtures and jigs as part of your world-class manufacturing solution.
The Manufacturing Process Development team's goal is to deliver complete manufacturing solutions that exceed customer expectations for Product Quality and Delivery.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities- Develop complete, capable, dock-to-dock manufacturing solutions including Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Control Plans, Plans for Every Part, and other PPAP deliverables (coordinating with different functional groups to implement)
- Design, build, and validate assembly fixtures and jigs
- Analyze new product designs through a Design for Assembly (DFA) lens and working collaboratively with Product Development Engineers and Production Operators to improve manufacturability of new products
- Conduct Prototype and Pilot builds to validate new assembly processes; using data from these builds to solve issues with assembly and product designs
Must-Have:
- Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree or Diploma combined with 2+ years’ experience high tech manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing process development experience
- Mechanical design and validation experience
- Strong organizational skills
