Business Data Analyst

Our client is a manufacturer/distributor located in Markham, ONT. We are looking for a Data Analyst, someone who can fix data (the beginning stage) and index and work with the data. This will be for categorizing car parts, etc. on the product side of the business.

Location: Markham ON.
Hybrid: Work 1-2 days a week in the office (depending on demand of business)
Salary: $60,000 to $78,000 + benefits
Start: ASAP

SUMMARY:

This position is directly responsible for data creation, processing, management, and analytics with support to Business Development, Product & Category Management, Inside Sales Management, and Sales & Marketing overall. A “power user” that thrives living inside a “data world” and helping recommend and implement data-based learning and solutions within a Team Culture.

KEY FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
  1. Data generation, Prepare Analysis & Reporting through internal Business Intelligence (BI) in support of Customer and Sales Team initiatives. Ability to derive insights from data analysis and communicate recommendations.
  2. Identify risks, issues, and opportunities in overall business processes and systems related to data generation and management, product & category management, pricing, marketing, and customer support by analyzing process data and metrics.
  3. Proactively create, manage, and publish dashboards to help drive data insight.
  4. Management of the overall database of key Customer network contact and system information in E1 (and if external to E1).
  5. Execution and support of Customer Product Set-Up, templating, and related initiatives.
  6. Coordination of Industry Regulatory and Certification documents & related information.
  7. As we expand our product and services into the Connected Business Smart Space for on-vehicle applications, this role will be involved through collaboration for helping identify how to drive business value from the in-vehicle/in-equipment data.
  8. Support toward structuring releases for Customer data, information promotions, product, and special announcements through internal digital programs such as CRM, Mail Chimp, or other release platforms. Includes support of information releases for Customer Solutions Process (which could include the releasing of customer dashboards and scorecards).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND LICENCES:

Degree Or Equivalent Experience: A formal degree is not a requirement for this position; however, a diploma or degree (in related areas such as Programming, Computer Sciences, Marketing, and/or Business Administration) would be considered helpful, as would related experience.

Years of Experience: 4-5 years or more of experience would be preferred but is not a specific requirement.

Training In: Knowledge of ACES-PIES Standards, Automotive and/or Part Classification Standards, E-Cataloguing/Online/ECommerce Data Management helpful (not required). Training will be provided for specific job expectations and related outputs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SETS REQUIRED:
  1. Software competency in Excel and Word (and/or related platforms); is, or can become, a Power User (notably as it relates to V-Look Up, Pivot Tables, and Macros).
  2. Comfort in a relational database environment (however internal training will be provided in internal BI environment; Power BI is helpful and comfort in Pivot Tables and Macros).
  3. Comfort in a Digital space relative to supporting E-Commerce platforms, Web-based environments, app-based technology, etc. can be helpful.
  4. Comfort in CRM platforms is not a requirement but helpful.
  5. Comfort in ERP platforms (JD Edwards) is not a requirement but helpful.
  6. Comfort in Outlook (or related) Email environments.
  7. Comfort in Teams (or related) visual/remote communication platform.
  8. Strong written (ability to clearly present and share their thoughts).
  9. Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  10. Direct Programming Language Skills are not required at the outset (but could grow into opportunities within the company…notably SQL and Java).
SPECIFIC REPORTING STRUCTURE:

This position and Team Member will report directly to the Business Development Manager (which is a Senior Member of the Canada Management and Leadership Team reporting directly to the General Manager, who is also a member of the International Executive Team). This position will also have an indirect relationship with different aspects of the Canadian and Global IS structure.

OVERALL REPORTING STRUCTURE:

This position currently does not have any direct reports they are responsible for. This position will be required to work directly and indirectly with others across the organization, notably in collaboration with Sales (including Field Sales Team), Marketing, Business Development, Technical Support, and Inside Sales & Customer Solutions. This position may be required to work directly with Customers to execute certain data templates or general requirements. From our “Safe Work Commitment,” there is an expectation that this role will be a hybrid of “remote Working” and “In-Office” as applicable (all subject to change and with assurance of health & safety).
