SUMMARY

QA Inspector shall follow all relevant working procedures, perform inspection and testing and fill out test/inspection results properly.

C shift: Sunday – Thursday 11:00PM-7:00AM

Salary: $23.93/hour (including 7% shift premium when night shift + $22.36/h as base salary)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Perform receiving inspection.
  2. Print out inspection sheets for production as required.
  3. Perform all required in-process inspections in Extrusion, Fabrication and Molding Department including first off inspection, OD/ID PI Tape measurements, caliper and shadowgraph measurements, hardness test, kg/ft, silicone weight check, visual inspection, etc. in accordance with requirement on drawings, inspection sheets and quality operating procedures.
  4. Perform final inspection of the products.
  5. Perform compression set tests, tensile and elongation tests, tear resistance tests, specific gravity, tensile set, permanent set tests, etc.
  6. Perform Water / Oil Absorption test, Compression Curve test, etc. as required.
  7. Follow the control of non-conforming product procedure.
  8. Fill out all required records (test reports, inspection sheets, etc.) completely and clearly.
  9. Other specialized functions when they are needed.

  • Adhere to all pertinent federal, provincial and local health and safety legislative requirements.
  • Report all accidents, regardless of how minor.
  • Work in accordance with the occupational health and safety policy, and all site-specific health and safety requirements (employee handbook).
  • Report all unsafe conditions to Quality Manager.
  • Wear all required safety equipment.
  • Review and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all non-smoking requirements.
  • Not make any safety device inoperable.
  • Not conduct any unsafe work.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good communication skills and able to read and write English.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers.

COMPLEXITY & JUDGEMENT

  • Able to regularly encounter differing complex problems, which requires judgment to analyze and identify alternative courses of action where established procedures/policies may not exist.
  • Work involves non-routine tasks that normally require different and unrelated methods within authorized limits.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

None.

Interacts daily with Quality Manager, QA Lead hand / Lab Technician, Production Supervisors, Lead Hands, and Operators.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The person shall spend 80% on the floor and 20% in the lab.
