The Project Managerwill be responsible for the execution and delivery of key initiatives associated with the advancement of central waitlist management goals and objectives. This includes supporting the implementation of provincial projects and initiatives to establish clinical, surgical, and diagnostic imaging central intake hubs across the province.As risks, issues or new requirements arise, the Project Manager will carry out escalation processes and apply critical thinking and relationship skills to devise multi-pronged mitigation plans that allow for successful completion of goals.

Here is what you will be doing:

Project Management

  • Lead the planning, design, implementation and smooth operationalization of OH strategic projects or workstreams within enterprise-wide projects

  • Steers projects to completion on time, within scope and on budget, by maintaining focused attention to the enabling factors that underpin the successful delivery of the project

  • Develop and manage detailed work plans, schedules, project budget estimates and resource plans required for successful project completion,

  • Work with cross-team SMEs to identify interdependencies between teams or with external partners

  • Monitor project execution to keep deliverables and milestones on track and on time and escalating to project sponsors and the Director when risks and issues are identified

  • Maintain rigor and ensure completion of comprehensive project control documentation throughout the project life cycle

  • Lead the development of working groups to inform on central intake program implementation and future state planning

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a funding model to support regional investments.

Management and Communication

  • Provide secretariat support to working groups and committees that oversee execution of the project

  • Independently and proactively prepare meeting materials (presentation, discussion documents, briefing notes, etc) to support action-oriented discussions

  • Participate in meetings with project sponsors and senior leadership to allow sufficient executive oversight on the project status

  • Support development of high-quality project documentation, including charters, business cases, detailed project plans and other related project management artifacts that clearly articulate the objectives, scope and targeted outcomes for the project

  • Complete thorough and timely project analysis and reporting, aligning with EPMO standards

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Technology, Health Sciences, Administration, Informatics, or another relevant discipline required

  • A Masters Level Degree in these fields would be an asset

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset

  • Demonstrated experience leading provincial and/or enterprise-level change management projects to successful realization.

  • 5-7 years of experience working in a complex hospital and/or healthcare environment in the context of project management or process improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, health services program planning and implementation, and quality improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships, large-scale change, and system transformation.

  • Experience facilitating and coaching interdisciplinary teams and successful use of change management strategies.

  • Experience leading projects with multiple work streams and a budget of >$10m

  • Experience in a central intake scheduling environment is an asset.

  • Proven ability to work within a matrix management structure, while also successfully engaging a wide range of stakeholders in support of organizational objectives

  • Proven ability to handle complex problems that require extensive investigation and analysis.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the program strategy.

  • Ability to develop staff including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Ability to build consensus, make decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives.

  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, when necessary.

  • Ability to challenge, convince and manage multiple stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze key issues and develop an appropriate plan.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to regional, ministry and OH audiences.

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, not hesitant to roll up sleeves or try new approaches to push for team success.
