Lead municipal parks operations in Moncton, New Brunswick, using horticulture knowledge, safety standards, and practical supervisory expertise.
Reporting to the Director of Parks, the Supervisor of Parks plans, coordinates, and supervises maintenance and operations. The work covers parks, playgrounds, trails, boulevards, horticultural displays, arboriculture, sports fields, and arenas. You will support service delivery, safety compliance, asset stewardship, and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate municipal parks maintenance and operations
- Supervise employees, allocate staff, and organize subordinate work
- Review work quality and quantity across assigned projects
- Coach, mentor, and formally evaluate employee performance
- Address performance and attendance issues
Requirements:
- Post-secondary credential in horticulture, parks, or recreation management
- Minimum five years’ supervisory experience in relevant operations
- Knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture, turf, or arena operations
- Knowledge of playground safety standards and New Brunswick legislation
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and English communication skills
