Our comprehensive undergraduate university offers 55 programs to more than 21,000 full
- and part-time students in business, communications, community and human services, design, fine and performing arts, health, humanities, natural science, nursing, public safety, and social science. Through a wide array of experiential learning opportunities, and strategic relationships in the community, we partner with others to produce graduates of stature. Recently renamed in recognition of a transformative gift from entrepreneur and community leader Ron Triffo, the Triffo School of Business is a dynamic and growing business school at MacEwan University. Distinguished by its entrepreneurial spirit, strong undergraduate focus, and deep connections to the Edmonton business community, the School offers a comprehensive portfolio of degree, diploma, and certificate programs that prepare students to lead, innovate, and create value in a rapidly evolving global economy. Accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), the School combines academic rigor with practical, real-world learning opportunities that connect students with industry, community, and experiential learning. Building on a proud history of graduate success and supported by a highly engaged community of faculty, staff, alumni, and partners, the School is entering an exciting new phase of growth. The opening of the new 35,000-square-metre Triffo School of Business building in January of 2027 will further enrich MacEwan's vibrant downtown campus, creating dynamic spaces for learning, collaboration, innovation, and community engagement while supporting the School's continued growth and impact across Edmonton, Alberta, and beyond.
Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President, Academic, the Dean provides strategic, academic, and operational leadership to one of MacEwan University's largest and fastest-growing academic units. The Dean will advance a compelling vision for the School that builds on its reputation for teaching excellence, student success, community engagement, and growing scholarship. As a member of the University's senior leadership team, the Dean will guide the School through a period of significant growth and transformation, strengthening its academic programs, fostering excellence in teaching, experiential learning, and research, and championing a culture that is collaborative, inclusive, and student-centred. A visible and engaged ambassador for the School, the Dean will cultivate meaningful relationships with industry, government, alumni, donors, and community partners to enhance the School's profile and reputation. As a champion for the Triffo School of Business, the Dean will articulate a compelling vision for the School, amplify its distinctive strengths, and strengthen its brand and reputation as a leading business school with deep connections to industry and community.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service to qualify for an appointment as a full professor; with a demonstrated record of progressive leadership experience within a complex university environment.
