Job Title: Technical Coordinator
Department: Technical (Stamping)
Reports To: Stamping Technical Assistant Manager
Your position is responsible for providing professional and dependable service and develop our team’s capability to deliver JEC’s key objectives to all our customers and suppliers. You will have a complete understanding of all customer/supplier requirements.
Your understanding of JEC’s Business Management System Manual, the associated BMS policies, processes, and their interaction is imperative. A commitment to JEC’s philosophy of Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery & Environment is a requirement.
This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan.
SUMMARY
Coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, equipment and facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support preventative maintenance (PM) system by helping Technical Team Leader to get PM’s done on schedule
- Review PM’s Tasks vs. Downtime to improve PM tasks to reduce downtime
- Assign DM activity to Technical Team Leaders and Technical Associates
- Support Technical Team Leaders in making sure all DM activities are completed by schedule due date
- Support of New Model Validation sheets and Problem Tracking Charts
- Make sure that all schedule due dates are being met and all information is up to date
- Perform down time analysis to find key downtime problems and assign DM to Technical Team Leaders as focus items
- Follow up on items and trends to insure final counter measure has corrected problem
- Interprets company policies to associates and enforces safety regulations
- Support all NM installations
- Manage over time and vacation for all Technical Team Leaders and Technical Associates on shift
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals
- Confers with other coordinators to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Complete communication documentation as well as updating any documentation that need to be change due to an improvement in process; This includes CAD drawings, line layouts, and SOP’s
- Follow Preventive Maintenance Work Order Responsibilities and Escalation Plan SOP-TE-107
- Daily maintaining of JEC Problem Solving Procedure, SOP14-1-QA015. Whiteboards, Problem Logs, 5P, etc.
- Evaluate and report equipment performance. Assess performance trends, identify areas requiring improvement, document action plans, and track the effectiveness of improvements.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly oversees associates in the Technical Department. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education in Engineering or Engineering Technology desired as well as two or more years of experience in PLC programming, instrumentation and controls is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the associate group.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
