Support scholarly peer review at the University of Ottawa as a Research Assistant using Excel, publication searches, and educational research expertise.
This Research Assistant supports Canadian Journal of Education Co-Editors with Anglophone reviewer database maintenance. The work involves verifying metadata, assessing research expertise, and recommending qualified peer reviewers for educational manuscripts. You will also support literature review and grant application activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and update Anglophone reviewer metadata
- Verify affiliations, expertise, publications, and specializations
- Identify gaps within the reviewer database
- Recommend reviewers aligned with manuscript expertise
- Support literature reviews and grant applications
Requirements:
- Experience working with academic journal editors
- Familiarity with scholarly peer-review processes
- Knowledge of Canadian Journal of Education scholarship
- Proficiency organizing and filtering large Excel datasets
- Strong organization, detail, independence, and confidentiality
