Build your career in energy with the Hydro Plant Operator position at Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro in Bay D’Espoir. This role is central to maintaining the electric power distribution system.
We are seeking dedicated individuals for this permanent position to operate and inspect generating plants. You will ensure adequate electricity flow and manage switching orders while adhering to safety protocols. This role also requires participation in emergency response efforts and thorough awareness of environmental responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate generating plant and monitor performance indicators
• Prepare and implement switching orders during operations
• Inspect transmission and distribution facilities regularly
• Engage in emergency readiness initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
Requirements:
• High school graduation and Power System Operator certification
• Strong grasp of safety regulations
• Valid driver’s license is essential
• Capable of working at heights up to 10m
