Please note: This is a temporary 12 month term opportunity with potential for extension.

The Practice Management Strategist will drive and scale the practice management pilot in partnership with Private Investment Counsel (PIC), Private Banking (PB), and selected external practice management vendor(s). This role focuses on structuring pilot programs, establishing practice frameworks, and integrating external systems to enhance advisor capacity and performance. Acting as a program lead, you will collaborate closely with the learning team, leadership, and technical teams to adapt practice management templates, customize playbooks, analyze performance metrics, and embed AI solutions into modern wealth management workflows.

Accountabilities

  • Program Leadership & Project Management: Act as the primary program lead to participate in strategic meetings, support implementation, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure seamless collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Framework & Playbook Customization: Partner with internal partners and external vendor(s) to adapt practice management templates and build customized practice playbooks specifically tailored for the PIC and PB groups.
  • Metrics & Performance Analysis: Analyze leading and lagging practice indicators (including Practice Management Index [PMI] metrics) to identify skill gaps, evaluate high-performance versus support needs, and help define performance standards across roles.
  • AI & Modern Practice Integration: Assess and integrate artificial intelligence applications into modern wealth management practices to support advisor efficiency and scalability.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Develop targeted communications regarding the pilot and its initiatives, maintaining transparency and alignment across the practice and mastery teams.
  • Workflow Integration: Work closely with technical and operational teams to integrate vendor data, established advisor assessments, and practice metrics into internal systems.

Skills, experience & requirements

Skills:

  • Project & Program Management: Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Data & Metrics Analysis: Strong analytical capability to interpret leading and lagging practice indicators, evaluate performance standards, and identify skill or capacity gaps.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop targeted messaging, manage stakeholder expectations, and maintain alignment across teams.
  • Consultative & Advisory Frameworks: Familiarity with practice management methodologies, advisory playbooks, and experience with external vendor integration
  • AI & Modern Practice Literacy: Understanding of how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies apply to and support modern wealth management workflows.

Experience & Requirements:

  • A strong background in wealth management, practice management, learning, or program leadership.
  • Proven success partnering with diverse groups—such as enterprise learning, senior leadership, and external vendors—to build and scale customized operational frameworks.
  • Experience supporting or managing business pilots, change management initiatives, or capacity-building programs within financial services (specifically working with established advisor segments
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant professional experience).
  • Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Project Management (PMP, CAPM), or Financial Services (CIRE, CFP, CIM) designations considered an asset.
