Manage large SQL Server environments remotely from Toronto using advanced performance tuning and high availability expertise. Shape structure across a growing database estate.
This Database Administrator role supports an established recovery-audit firm serving large corporations. You will oversee primarily on-premises SQL Server databases ranging from 30 to 40 terabytes. The position combines operational administration with environmental assessment and improvement leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server instances
- Implement Always On, failover clustering, and replication
- Tune indexing, queries, partitioning, and compression
- Manage Agent jobs, logs, tempdb, and automation
- Build backup, recovery, monitoring, and security standards
Requirements:
- Five or more years as a SQL Server Database Administrator
- Deep Microsoft SQL Server installation and configuration expertise
- High availability and disaster recovery experience
- Advanced tuning experience with very large databases
- PowerShell or Python scripting and automation experience
