Perform surgical eye tissue recovery for Ontario Health in the Barrie-Huntsville region, using aseptic technique and travelling throughout Ontario as required.
As a Tissue Recovery Coordinator with Trillium Gift of Life Network, you will coordinate tissue donation recovery and assess donor suitability. The permanent part-time position includes weekday and weekend 24-hour on-call shifts. Responsibilities involve surgical recovery, tissue screening, documentation, transportation, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical recovery of eye tissue from deceased individuals
- Assess donor suitability with the TGLN team
- Package and transport tissues using aseptic technique
- Collect blood and other required test samples
- Maintain accurate documentation, equipment, and supplies
Requirements:
- Health sciences, nursing, pathology, paramedicine, or equivalent education
- Four years' relevant health sciences environment experience preferred
- Valid unrestricted Class G licence and reliable vehicle
- Availability for 24-hour on-call shifts, including weekends
- Ability to travel extensively and lift parcels up to 35 pounds
